What is a partial absence?

A partial absence is an absence of a few hours that one wishes to take during a workday. It could be, for example, a medical appointment from 8 AM to 9 AM, someone who leaves work early because they feel unwell or a person who breastfeeds during their work time.

How does it work?

Add the absence with the desired time slots directly on a schedule (there is no need to modify the concerned schedule) via the planning or via the My Day page.

The schedule and the absence are now overlapped:

  • The schedule is hatched during the absence period on the Planned line of the My Day page

  • The absence is visible on the Worked line

Two methods for managing partial absences

Case 1: Alex left work early because his child was sick

Go to the Planning and click on the concerned day. On the panel on the right, click on Add absence.

Then select the corresponding absence in the dropdown, click on Set time range(s) to define the hours affected by this absence.

Click on Save and it's done. The day is complete with the absence "Child illness" and Alex does not loose any working hours. This can be quickly checked with the difference calculated at the top left of the My Day page.

You can perform the same manipulation by going through Alex's My Day page. Click on the Add button located at the top right of the page and add the absence in the same way as explained above.

Case 2: Josias submitted an absence request in late morning for a medical visit

The absence can be validated as requested by Josias.

It then appears on the Worked line of the My Day page.

1h00 of medical visit, which counts as working time here, is now recorded for this day.

Absences that do not count as work time

An absence that does not count as work time (for example, overtime recovery) appears dashed on the Worked line.

Stamping anomalies

When a stamp includes anomalies (late arrival, gap in the middle of the day or early departure) tipee flags them on the "My Day" page with the following icons:

entry anomaly

exit anomaly

To address these stamping anomalies (with the corresponding type of absence), simply click on the anomaly and tipee will offer to enter an absence.
